To provide a scam-free marketplace with credible online sellers, MyBenta is introducing a new upgrade to better protect buyers within our online selling community.
What is a Verified Seller Badge?
It is a simple badge displayed on the seller profile account and advertisements. Please see sample image below.
Sellers with Verified Seller Badge has provided MyBenta with supporting documents of their identity and completed our verification process.
How do I become verified?
To get verified, a MyBenta seller must submit a valid government ID with any of the following:
- Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) business name permit
- Security and Exchange Commission registration
- Mayor's Business Permit
- Other government-issued license
All documents should be submitted to [email protected]. All submissions should include seller's complete name, contact number(s) and MyBenta username.
Is Verification a requirement?
No, but it's generally a good idea as it will enhance your reputation and credibility as an online seller.
Is the Verified Seller Badge FREE?
Yes, the verification process and the Verified Seller Badge are FREE of charge.
PLEASE NOTE: Mybenta's verification system does not constitute an endorsement of a seller or a guarantee of a seller's business practices. Buyers should always consider additional information when evaluating sellers, such as what other customers are saying about them on their Mybenta feedback score. Any disputes between sellers and buyers should be brought to the attention of respective government agencies.

We understand and respect that in our online selling community, there are casual sellers trying to earn extra and full-time sellers who depend on online selling as sole source of income. We aim to support both efforts, and at the same time, keep Mybenta a safe online marketplace.
More so, casual sellers with no verified seller badge won't need to worry that their ads will have less exposure on the Mybenta site, because the badge will only appear on the seller's advertisements and profiles and NOT in the search listing or results. That way, all ads--whether verified or not--will have equal and fair chance of exposure. Search results or ranking of ads will always depend on ad relevancy or complete ad description and not on the Seller Badge.
Our Verified Seller Badge is NOT A REQUIREMENT, but an improved feature to protect online buyers and prevent scams. It is not meant to displace casual online sellers.
We agree that those documents cannot guarantee safe transaction or seller's business practices, but it is better to have measures in place to hopefully protect buyers than none.
All documents will be handled with strictest confidentiality and will only be used for verification process. Any disputes between sellers and buyers should be brought to the attention of government authorities.
