It's not just about delivering relief though, the dressing also helps to stop burn progression and cools the skin, both relieving pain and protecting against airborne contamination. Water-Jel Burn Dressings are made with a scientifically formulated cooling gel, utilizing medical-grade nonwoven pads to deliver effective relief and healing for burns. They are non-adherent so they will not stick to burn injuries. The dressings are soaked in a water-based/soluble, bacteriostatic, and biodegradable gel and are also sterilized to ensure a contamination-free atmosphere for emergency treatment of burns. With Water-Jel Burn Dressings, it takes no special training to give fast and effective emergency burn care for any type of burn injury. All Water-Jel Burn Dressings have a 5-year shelf life from the date of manufacture. Water-Jel Burns Dressings can be applied directly to the burn without the need for pre-cooling allowing for fast and effective treatment of the burn injury. To help with the application, each burns first aid dressing has a Total Body Surface Area (TBSA) icon that indicates an approximate total body surface area covered with the use of that dressing.
